Anemone flaccida

Anemone flaccida

This group of Anemones all have rhizomes and are suitable for: light, medium and heavy soils. Soil ph is not critical. They are best in light shade in moist moist soil.

Distribution:
Eastern China, Japan, Eastern Russia, including Sakhalin Island (just above Japan).

Description:
A mountain species whose Japanese name is ‘two-flower’, as each rhizome normally has a pair of flowers. The leaves are cut into rounded lobes at the edges and very attractively marked on the upper surface in silver and green. These leaves are borne with the pure white flowers (which also have white anthers) in Spring and make a good foil for other spring bulbs as well as being a nice plant in their own right.

Availability:
From our Nursery and from other specialist nurseries.
