Iris attica (blue and yellow forms)

Habitat:
Full sun in well drained acidic soil.

Description and Distribution:
From Greece, Yugoslavia, and Turkey. A dwarf species also stemless with plants rarely reaching more than 10-12cm in height. Flowers are single and occuring in early summer. Being bluish-purple, yellow, white or bi-coloured.

Background:
The name attica refers to an historical region is centered on the Attic peninsula, which projects into the Aegean Sea.
