Habitat:
Moist soils in full sun.

Description and Distribution:
From Western Yunnan and South West Sichuan. Plant forming large clumps. Leaves to 90cm, flowering stems taller at 1.5m.

Background:
This plant for named for French missionary and plant collector Pere Jean Delavay (1834-1889). He found this iris on one of his expeditions to Yunnan (1895). However, it was introduced into cultivation by George Forrest and others.
