Iris versicolor ‘kermesina’

Iris versicolor ‘kermesina’

This iris is suitable for small or shallow ponds and can also be grown as a waterside or bog plant. We don’t have a pond or bog so we get around this by growing it in a large pot sunk into the ground with restricted drainage.

Description and Distribution:
A compact form of the North American water iris, preferring a partially shaded position and having red-purple flowers in early summer.  The falls have a central white flash, veined purple.
