Lilium lankin

Lilium lankin

Description and Background:
Bred from the Japanese species L. longiflorum and the Chinese species L. lankongense found in the alpine areas of the Yunnan Province. It debuted at the 2011 Chelsea Flower Show and was an instant hit. While L. lankongense has been bred successfully in the past with other Asiatic hybrids and Asiatic classification type species, this is a first with the L longflorum and was made possible through embryo rescue under laboratory conditions.

Flowering will reach 1.2 metres. Plant in a sunny well drained spot.
